2020-21 season

Changes to the backroom staff

1. FC Köln have made some changes to the backroom staff around the first-team. Sport psychologist, Moritz Anderten will join Markus Gisdol’s staff for next season. Christian Osebold will take over as head of Physiotherapy, with Matti Forkel joining as a physio.

At the start of pre-season there are personnel changes in the backroom staff surrounding the first-team. Moritz Anderten, who had previously been responsible for the sport psychology in the youth academy, will now be part of the first-team set-up.

“We have been thinking about this topic for a while and were always of the opinion, that the time must be right in order to bring a sport psychologist into the backroom staff. At the start of a new season, that fits. Alongside football training, we want to bring on the mental performance of our boys,” said FC managing director, Horst Heldt.

In the physiotherapy department, Christian Osebold will now lead the team. Klaus Maierstein, former head of Physiotherapy, will no longer work with the first-team. The team will be completed by Daniel Schütz and Matti Forkel, with the latter moving up from the academy.
