Kingsley Schindler has joined Hannover 96. The FC midfielder will play on loan at the Lower Saxony side next season.
“We all know about King’s potential. Due to the current competition in our squad, he didn’t play that much in the second half of the season. That is not his wish – and we can understand that. Therefore, we sat down with him together and spoke about a transfer making sense. At Hannover, he has the chance to play for an ambitious 2. Bundesliga club. We wish him all the best this season,” said FC managing director, Horst Heldt.
“The move to 1. FC Köln was the right decision after three successful years in Kiel. To have gained experience in the Bundesliga, has brought me on further as a player. But I want to play more and not just show my performance levels in training, but in a competitive sense. Therefore, I decided to make this step,” said Kingsley Schindler.
Schindler joined 1. FC Köln in summer 2019. In the past season, the 27-year-old midfielder made 11 appearances for FC in the Bundesliga and two appearances in the DFB-Pokal. This is Schindler’s second time in Hannover, having also played in the academy there.
