Training on Monday

Osako Returns

1. FC Köln began preparations for the upcoming Bundesliga fixture against Eintracht Frankfurt. The Monday training session lasted about 90 minutes.

Athletic exercises, passing drills, and shooting on goal. From there the players took part in a small-sided training match. Back in action was Yuya Osako, who had missed Friday’s match against Borussia Dortmund due to a cold. “We are going to be careful with Yuya not to overwork him. We need him,” said FC head coach Stefan Ruthenbeck. Meanwhile, Christian Clemens was not in training due to a muscular injury.

Making a positive impression on the coach was Jhon Cordoba, who made his comeback in the match against Borussia Dortmund. “His offensive work was good, but I think he still needs to regain his fitness following such a long break.”

Saturday’s opponent, Frankfurt, will be playing a mid-week DFB-Pokal fixture against 1. FSV Mainz 05. “We will base our match on theirs,” said Ruthenbeck.
