School & Dormitory
The GeißbockAkademie (Geissbock Academy) promotes and supports the educational and personal development of young footballers.
Football is a team sport - and the road from a top talent to the professionals is indeed a tough one. This is why the young talents of 1. FC Köln are not developed solely to become better players. The support system and developmental strategy is done in a way that the athlete can profit even when a ball is not at his or her foot.

In the Sportinternat (Dormitory) young athletes will find the optimal facilities to help stimulate their advancement in education and sport.
Young athletes living in the dormitory are assembled from all different cultures and in a variety of sports. The youths are encouraged to interact and learn from one another. Athletes include players of 1. FC Köln, but also of athletes competing in Olympic sports. Respect for other human beings has the absolute highest priority. "The great thing about the Sportinternt is that talented athletes from different sports live together and can learn from one another,"says Director of the Internet, Michael Niedrig. "These young athletes face challenges and expectations from all facets, so it is important that they are fully supported with whatever they need. We want to make sure that they can master not only the sporting facet, but also school, career, and anything else that may arise in everyday living."
