FC mourn over Heddergott

1. FC Köln are mourning over the loss of Karl Heinz Heddergott. The former FC head coach passed away aged 94 on 27th May 2021.

While Heddergott was 1. FC Köln head coach for only a short period of time in 1980, it was his indirect work with young players that brought about much success. Karl-Heinz Thielen, Toni Regh, Karl-Heinz Ripkens, Gero Bisanz, Wolfgang Overath, Hannes Löhr and Wolfgang Weber all benefitted from his experience and tutelage as young players in the region. After his time at FC, Heddergott moved into more international projects. He worked for the USA, Oman and the UAE in various positions.
